Thanks to the current health crisis, this easy task ofvisiting your barber also comes with a rulebook. But while we are prepared tofollow all the rules to T, it has not been easy for thebarber community to jump back to work after more than 2 months of no incomeflow.
As we unlock our cities and open ourbusinesses (with safety restrictions in place), barbers like many other dailywage earners still have no respite. Business for them is not as per usual. Someare the sole bread earners in their family and this lockdown has cost themdearly. Unfortunately, in these unprecedented times and the ※new normal§ comingin place, our marginalized Barber community needs our helping hand and Gilletteaims to do just that.
To help ease the life of thousands ofbarbers, Gillette, India*s leading male grooming brand, has launched the initiative, Barber Suraksha Programme, as a show of solidarity with the barbercommunity of India.

A series ofeducative videos on health, hygiene and social distancing awareness in thecommunity. With grooming expert Aalim Hakim, the videos consist of quick on thego content, on how to keep their barbershops and equipment sanitized, alongwith ensuring rules laid down by the government are followed in the shop.
Most importantly the programme covers barbers with customized insurance that ensures they insured against Covid-19.
A back to businesskit that has sanitizing equipment, essentials and products to bring relief tobarbers when they open shop for business.
It is not only important to equipyourself with sanitizing equipment, but also necessary to use it in the correctway. That*s one of the biggest reasons why Gillette India is also focusing oneducating the barber community about the must-follow safety norms to ensureemployee and client safety. From sanitizing their shops to providing them withnew grooming equipment (razors, scissors, PPE gears), Gillette is doing theirbit for the barber community. This initiative to give back to the community isa heartwarming gesture from the grooming giant.
