Congress MP Jyotiaditya Scindia, who resigned from the Indian National Congress (INC), is expected to join Bharatiya Janata Party?(BJP) on Tuesday.??
Scindia announced his exit on Twitter and said in his resignation letter that was addressed to the President of Indian National Congress, Sonia Gandhi, ¡°Having been a primary member of the Congress Party for the last 18 years, it is time for me to move on. I am tendering my resignation from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress and as you well know, this is a path that has been drawing itself out over the last year."
Post Scindia's resignation, 22 Members of the Indian National Congress of Madhya Pradesh also quit the party.
He has further mentioned in his letter, "While my aim and purpose remain the same as it has always been from the very beginning, to serve the people of my state and country, I believe I am unable to do this anymore within this party."
Scindia also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah after which both the leaders met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, suggesting Scindia could sooner or later join BJP.
The loyal members of the Scindia camp, those who were not happy about the Congress leadership said Scindia was not treated properly by Madhya Pradesh Congress. Now they are also likely to quit the party to reduce Kamal Nath-led government to a minority.?
It is possible that BJP will be staking claim to form the government in Madhya Pradesh.
