Once again, a Sandeep Reddy Vanga film has given rise to a controversy so huge that the discussions about it have the parliament. During the Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha on December 7,?Chhattisgarh Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan called out the Ranbir Kapoor starrer movie for its violence and misogyny and questioned how the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared Animal, which she said was a "disease to the society".??
"From Kabir Singh to Pushpa and now Animal, these movies show so much violence and molestation of women."
She revealed that her daughter who went to the movies with her college friends from second year cried after watching the movie. They couldn't watch the entire film and left the cinema hall mid-way.??
She added, "Look at Kabir Singh, how he treats his wife. These movies justify such disrespectful behavior towards women. This is a very important topic as movies are leaving an impact on students as young as those studying in 11th and 12th grade. She said that they consider such men as their role models. Because we are seeing it in the movie, we are seeing this kind of violence in the society too."?
Furthermore, she questioned the song Arjan Vailly, which is based on Arjan Singh Nalva, the son of?Hari Singh Nalwa, who was the Commander-in-chief of the Sikh Khalsa Fauj in 18th century. She said that they have linked this song to war between two families. She said that Ranbir's character carries big weapons to college and nobody, no law punished him in the movie. This is so wrong, she said.
"As far as Arjan Valley is concerned, Hari Singh Nalwa, the commander-in-chief of the Sikh Force, who fought against the Mughals, against the British, to stop their growing power, his son was Arjan Singh Nalwa. He saved many Muslims from Pakistan's Guzara, when the whole of India was together, in 1947. This high-quality history has been shown wrongly in this picture. This also hurts the religious faith," she added.?
