Contrary to popular belief, the report suggests that 81% of HR professionals across industries are actively recruiting.?Despite this, only 7% of Indian campuses got full placement.
Moreover, more than 88% of HR professionals prioritise skills over experience, academics, or references.?
A?majority (66%) of HRs believe that college curricula need adjustments to enhance students' employability.?
However, interestingly, 91% of students feel their coursework adequately prepares them for the job market.
On their part, students prioritise job security over salary increases, with in-hand salary being the most valuable salary component, as in earlier years, with perks and benefits taking the second spot.?
Furthermore, students are keen on receiving guidance and training in their workplace, highlighting the importance of mentorship.
Students would rather work in a hybrid model than from an office or a remote setting. However, among undergraduates (E-School, Arts, Science and Commerce students), women would rather work from the office instead of a hybrid work model.?
And, putting an end to the 70-hour work week debate, the report reveals that 67% of students prefer not to work more than 40-50 hours per week.
Despite progress, a gender pay gap persists. For women in Arts, Science & Commerce, the most common offer falls between INR 2-5 LPA, which is half of what men typically receive in this field, ranging from INR 6-10 LPA.?
