In the video, the person recording asks a young student, "Kis cheez ki taiyari kar rahe ho?" ("What are you preparing for?"), to which the child replies, "Mai doctor ki taiyyari kar raha hu" ("I am preparing to become a doctor"). When asked, "NEET ki?" ("For NEET?"), he answers in the affirmative.
Shockingly, the child is only in the sixth grade and is just 11 years old.?
The person recording then questions, "Sixth class se NEET ki taiyyari hoti hai" ("Is there coaching for NEET from sixth standard onwards?"), and the boy responds, "Ha, Allen mein hoti hai." ("Yes, Allen offers it").
Shockingly the child is still only in the sixth standard and is aged 11.
The Reddit caption to the video reads, "How is Allen even accepting students??"
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a nationwide entrance exam in India for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate medical and dental programs. It evaluates their knowledge in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
In the comments, people were taken aback by the video. One user remarked, "Iske maa baap ko doctar ko dikhao phle," expressing concern over the situation.?
Another pointed out that NEET coaching typically starts from around the 5th grade, and someone noted that even this year*s JEE Advanced topper has been preparing since 6-7 years.
Ved Lahoti, who secured AIR 1 in JEE Advanced 2024, scored 355 out of 360.
Another commenter offered a different perspective, saying, "The thing is, it's not *rat race* if the student himself wishes to enroll, some students have high curiosity, aise hi olympiad medalist nhi bante bache#"
One person humorously added, "Ye NEET 2030 dega, tab tak itni competition ho jayegi ki I'm somehow finding this understandable lol."
Another lamented, "Honestly how sad is this poora childhood iska prep me nikal jaega."
What do you think about this? Is it advisable for students to start preparing for competitive exams at such a young age?
