A 53-year-old man was stabbed to death near a private school on Dhanwapur road in Sector 4 in Gurugram. The body was found lying on the roadside, while the deceased's car was found just metres away after it had rammed into an electric pole.

According to the family, the deceased ¡ª identified as Ramesh Kumar Vij, working as the plant head of Nagata India Private Limited in Manesar ¡ª on Wednesday had left from office early to celebrate his daughter's birthday, who along with her husband had come to Gurugram.
He reached home at Sector 5 around 8pm and found the house locked. When he called his family members, they informed him that they were at a mall in MG Road and asked him to join them there. Vij immediately started for the mall. On the way he stopped near CCA School to withdraw some cash from an ATM booth.

After which his phone was switched off. As the family could not reach him till 9.30pm, they returned home hoping that they would find him at home. Around 10 pm, they received a call informing them that Vij's car had met with an accident and he was lying injured near the CCA school. Cops were also informed about the incident.
Vij's daughter and son-in-law rushed to the spot and found Vij lying in a pool of blood. Cops helped them take Vij to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
His wallet and mobile phone were found inside his Toyota Corolla car.
On the complaint of deceased's son-in-law Gaurav Khanna, an FIR has been registered against the unidentified assailants under sections 392 (robbery), 302 (murder) of IPC at Sector 9 A police station.

However, Sanjay Kumar, the security supervisor at Nagata India Pvt Ltd told TOI that Vij was a very decent and soft spoken person and had no enemies in the office. He added that Vij left the office around 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
"We are investigating the matter and are acquiring the CCTV footage of that area. The wallet, having Rs 30,000 cash and ATM cards, and his mobile phone was found inside the car," said Rajeev Yadav, ACP (city), Gurgaon.
