Zeeshan Siddique was expelled from the Congress in August for allegedly cross-voting in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections.??
He is set to contest the Maharashtra Assembly elections on an NCP ticket from the Vandre East constituency, which he won in 2019 as a Congress candidate.??
His father, Baba Siddique, was also a Congress leader until earlier this year. The four-term MLA and former Maharashtra minister had resigned from Congress in February 2024 and joined the NCP.??

Baba Siddique was shot dead outside the office of Zeeshan Siddique in Bandra on 12 October by gunmen hired by the Bishnoi gang.?
According to the police, Siddique was targeted by the Bishnoi gang due to his proximity to actor Salman Khan. The Mumbai Police have arrested a total of 14 accused in connection with the murder.
