Ayodhya is all set to get bullet train connectivity. The Delhi-Varanasi corridor where it is being planned shall connect Ayodhya, Mathura, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Agra, Kanpur and Jewar airport as per a TOI report.??
The National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd said Etawah, Lucknow, Raebareli and Bhadohi shall also be connected. According to sources, it will cover densely populated urban and rural areas, highways, roads, ghats, rivers and green fields.
Of course, this will provide greater connectivity. But the question to ask is how much do we really need it? The speed will no doubt be better but the cost needed is going to be a lot. So it begs the question, can we live without it? Or is it necessary? There is no wrong or right answer in this case.?
NHSRCL is implementing the Ahmedabad-Mumbai project.?
Light Detection and Ranging Survey, which is laser equipment on a helicopter for ground survey shall be implemented for the Delhi-Varanasi corridor as well. This is crucial to chalk out the fastest possible route for the train.?
This technique was also adopted for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor due to its accuracy. What could have taken a year took just 3 months or so. ?
Given the country's economical situation amid COVID pandemic, the bullet train plan is definitely on, whether we think it is necessary or not. Do we need it? Maybe, maybe not. But it's for real.
