Ayodhya, the spiritual core of Hindu mythology, set a Guinness World Record on Wednesday with a stunning display of 25 lakh earthen lanterns along the Saryu River. This year's Deepotsav, an annual Diwali celebration, featured the world's largest oil-lamp lighting, surpassing Ayodhya's previous record of 22 lakh lamps set last year.?
It was a unique event for the people of Ayodhya because the celebrations happened nine months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a magnificent Hindu temple by consecrating an idol of Lord Ram.
?The Guinness World Records team recognized the success by delivering a certificate to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, honouring the amazing feat, which was watched in real-time by drone cameras to guarantee strict compliance with the criteria.
As the sun sets on this holy day, Ayodhya changes into a beautiful display of lights, colours, and traditional performances, attracting visitors from all around.?
The celebration will feature a range of activities, including thematic processions depicting episodes from the Ramayana, traditional dance performances, and an enthralling aerial drone show.
