A 16-year-old Class XI student of Islamia Inter College in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh has been arrested by police after he allegedly attacked the principal with a brick after his request for a leave was turned down.

The incident happened on Friday after the student, who claimed he had an injury in his feet, and requested a leave. According to him, the principle turned down his request and told him to ¡°get out of his room¡±.
The principal¡¯s rude behaviour, claimed the student, forced him to behave in that manner.
The principal, Shakir Ali Khan, was rushed to a hospital with head injury, where doctors stitched up his wound; his condition is said to be normal.
The student, son of a mason, was immediately apprehended by school staff, who handed him over to the Sadar Bazar police.?

Recording their statement, teachers and non-teaching staff told police that the teenager, an addict, often behaves rudely with them, said Mishra.
Khan in his complaint stated that the student attempted to kill him with the brick, following which a case was registered against the student under section 307 IPC (attempt to murder).
