Shopping online can be fun, convenient, and most of the time less expensive than buying from physical stores. But online shopping can also be tricky as unscrupulous elements may scam customers by selling fake or lower quality products, despite the promises made by the e-commerce site about the authenticity of the items sold on their platforms.
An Amazon customer was in for a rude shock after he received a fake iPhone 15.
"Waah @amazonIN delivered a Fake iPhone 15. Seller is Appario. Tagged with 'Amazon choice.' No cable in the box. Total Dabba. Has anyone faced a similar issue?" a popular social media user, who goes by ¡°Gabbar Singh¡± said.
When asked by another X user, Gabbar Singh said that he had purchased the iPhone 15 for his wife.
Another X user wondered why there was a screen guard on the fake iPhone, to which he replied that it came pre-installed.?
Yet another X user pointed out that the low-quality screen guard should have been a red flag.
Responding to Gabbar Singh's post, an Amazon India representative informed him that their team get back to him with a resolution via email.
While the particular complaint might have been resolved by Amazon, many others also shared similar experiences while shopping online.
"Happened to me 15 days ago. In my case, it¡¯s some used old android phone inside Iphone packaging. My money gone, @amazonIN refused any help. Folks pls pls pls, stop buying expensive stuff on Amazon," another person wrote.
"Had ordered a Surf Excel washing powder through @amazonIN?yesterday and I received a box of Sulf Excel. Not sure what happened to their qc," yet another person said.
"@amazon once delivered an empty box to me. Wasn't an iPhone but still, I paid much for an android to Amazon only to get cheated. I raised the issue. Got nothing but arrogance from Amazon. Stopped buying from them," said another X user.
