In a heartwarming incident an 11-year-old boy who went missing from his home 22 years ago, met his family again, but with an unexpected twist.
Pinku Singh, the son of Ratipal Singh had gone missing from his home in Delhi in 2002 at the age of 11.
He reportedly left home after he was scolded by his parents for playing marbles.?
But last week, after nearly 22 years, the family saw Pinku again, in the form of a monk.
According to a report by NDTV, Pinku was spotted and identified by the villagers of Amethi's Kharauli village, who then informed his parents.
Pinku's parents who rushed to their village from Delhi confirmed that the monk was their long-lost son.
But the emotional reunion was short-lived as Pinku told his parents that he had no plans to live with them and was returning to the religious sect of which he was now a part.
Despite the pleas of his parents other relatives, and villagers, Pinku once again left them, after taking alms from his mother.?
According to Pinku, taking alms from his mother was part of a religious ritual that aspiring monks must complete, to mark their transition into the monastic life.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Pinku, who is dressed in the traditional attire of an ascetic, is seen playing the sarangi and singing.
His family and villagers can be seen breaking down and hugging him as Pinku sang.
Pinku's father Ratipal alleged that the religious sect which his son is now a part of, was demanding Rs 11 lakhs for his release from the religious order, which he says he is not able to afford.
