In response to a viral video of a young couple kissing each other?inside metro coach, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has now appealed to its commuters to "refrain from indulging in such obscene activities".
In the clip, a couple can be seen sitting on the floor of a metro train coach amidst other people. The girl is lying on the boy's lap, and then abruptly, the boy leans his head and begins kissing the girl.?
?The young couple is seen kissing not just once but repeatedly. The video has seemingly been recorded by a person on the seat without the couple being aware of his move.
After the video gained traction online, DMRC issued an official statement concerning the issue.
"DMRC expects its commuters to behave responsibly while using the Delhi Metro and follow all social etiquette and protocols which are acceptable in the society. Commuters should not indulge in any indecent/obscene activity that may cause discomfort or could offend the sensibilities of other fellow commuters. DMRC's Operations & Maintenance Act infact lists out indecency as a punishable offence under Section-59," it read.
"We appeal to our commuters to kindly refrain from indulging in such obscene activities and maintain social etiquette/decorum while travelling in a mass public transport system like the Delhi Metro. We also request fellow commuters to report such incidents to the nearest available Metro Staff/CISF immediately so that appropriate action can be taken," the statement further stated.
The undated video has angered many social media users who have urged DMRC to take action against the couple, while some have questioned the idea of filming the act. Also, some of the netizens had a chuckle about it as well. Take a look at how people reacted on Twitter.

Despite the reinforcement of the ban by DMRC on filming inside Delhi metro trains in March, many videos from inside the Delhi Metro coaches keep popping up on the internet.
DMRC, in its public service message on Twitter, had stated, "Travel, don't cause trouble." The post was accompanied by a graphic that said, "Be a passenger in Delhi Metro, not a nuisance."?
While there was a ban on photography inside Delhi Metro and station premises, due to security reasons, from the early days when the service started, off late, especially after the advent of social media, it was not strictly enforced.
