The air quality in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) was recorded at 333, which falls in the very poor category on Tuesday morning.
According to data shared by the CPCB, the AQI was recorded in the 'very poor' range, at 356, in the RK Puram area at 8 am, while Anand Vihar logged 365.
Further, as per the CPCB, the AQI at ITO was also recorded in the 'Very Poor' range at 335.
The AQI in the Ashok Vihar area was also recorded in the 'very poor' range at 298 at 8 am on Tuesday, while in Narela, it was at 339.
The city has been experiencing air quality in the range of 'severe' to 'very poor' over the last few weeks.
The air quality index from 0 to 100 is considered 'good', 100 to 200 'moderate', 200 to 300 'poor', 300 to 400 'very poor' and from 400 to 500 or above 'severe'.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) put out a forecast for the national capital earlier, saying there was no likelihood of showers till December 11. It predicted clear skies with shallow to moderate fog in the morning across the city.
Meanwhile, the Commission for Air Quality Management has said that Delhi has not reported a single day of 'Severe' air quality during this period of 2023 as compared to the corresponding period in the last five years.
"For the first 10-day period of December, Delhi registers its lowest daily average AQI in 2023 compared to the corresponding period in the last 5 years. Delhi has not reported a single day of 'Severe' air quality during this period of 2023 as compared to the corresponding period in last the 5 years," the Commission said.
Delhi recorded yet another cold morning on Tuesday, with the minimum temperature settling at 6.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
The humidity level stood at 100 per cent at 8:30 am, the MeT office said.
The city had registered its coldest morning of the season on Monday, with the minimum temperature plummeting to 6.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.
The national capital has witnessed below-normal temperatures in the last few days.
The forecast for the period between December 12 and 17 indicates that the minimum temperature will oscillate between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius.
