Cow protection, declaration of cow as the national animal, DNA testing during meat export, withdrawal of dossier on cow vigilantes, Gau Mantralaya, protection of Gomala land, action against cow theft and slaughter were the resolutions of the Dharm Sansad that concluded here on Sunday.
Addressing mediapersons, Surendra Kumar Jain, International Joint Secretary of VHP, expressing concern over increase of cow slaughter where 'real' cow vigilantes were being targeted and killed by people involved in illegal theft and slaughter of cows said that on Sunday Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) has resolved to demand the centre to declare Cow as national animal and protect it.

According to him, lynching related cow slaughter and beef eating are misleading and 'real' gau rakshaks are targeted for various reasons and to hush up truth. Some of the incidents were blown out of the proportion. "In the past three years, 200 such incident were being reported across country. Our investigation has revealed that only in 14-15 cases our members were directly involved and rest were fabricated against us. Cow protection is moral and legal right of Hindus. Gau Hatya (Cow slaughter) is hurting the sentiments of Hindus across country. It should stop by any chance. Law should deal with iron hands against those persons involved in cow killings."
Stressing that cow slaughter banned across states, he lambasted political parties in Kerala as well Karnataka for organising beef parties and openly supports cow slaughter. "Because these people, Hindu community is disturbed."

Cow slaughter not political agenda
So is this BJP agenda to ban cow slaughter pan India? Mahatma Gandhi, Vinobha Bhave, Jagadguru Shankaracharya and many others were against cow slaughter. "So this is not political agenda," he said adding that cows are not getting enough fodder as gomala land are encroached. "This should be cleared; this land is not for political leaders or to build commercial complexes."
Prepare dossier of cow slaughters and not cow vigilantes
The Centre recently issued an order to prepare dossier on cow vigilantes. "During Sansad, we have requested and resolved that such dossier on cow vigilantes should be withdrawn instead Sansad demands government prepare a dossier of those involved in cow theft and slaughter. For example, In Tripura, BSF commandant was killed, woman NGO was assaulted by such cow slaughters. We have given such evidences to government as well to Supreme Court.

DNA test during beef export
To ensure that cow meat is not exported to foreign countries during the process, Jain demanded to setup a DNA testing centre to check it. "It will ensure that in the name of beef, cow meat is not exported to other countries."
When asked if such testing would be Herculean as it involves a lot of work, he answered: "It is done to protect the interest of the nation."
Legal action against pseudo, fake cow-vigilantes
When issues of fake cow vigilantes involved in assaults and killed was raised, Jain used word 'Chadm' in Hindi to depict such pseudo cow vigilantes and maintained only few people are involved in these illegal activities. "We condemn such attacks in the name of Gau Rakshaks which resulted in bad name to real ones. Law will take action against such."
