On Thursday, October 31, Prime Minister Modi celebrated Diwali with personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF), Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force at Lakki Nala in the Sir Creek region of Gujarat's Kutch.?
Footage captured the Prime Minister, wearing an army uniform, as he distributed sweets to the soldiers stationed there.
When the BJP came to power in 2014, Prime Minister Modi made a memorable visit to Siachen, reminding soldiers that their dedication allows 1.25 billion Indians to celebrate Diwali in peace.
He expressed his intent to celebrate the festival as a representative of the families waiting at home.
Since then, Prime Minister Modi has continued this heartfelt tradition, spending Diwali with troops stationed across the nation.?
His journey has taken him from Siachen in 2014 to the Punjab border in 2015, then to Sumdo in Himachal Pradesh in 2016, followed by the Gurez sector in Jammu and Kashmir in 2017.?
He visited Harsil in Uttarakhand in 2018, Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019, and Longewala in Rajasthan in 2020.?
In 2021, he celebrated in Nowshera, then moved to Kargil in 2022, and most recently, he marked the festival in Lepcha, Himachal Pradesh, in 2023.
