The footage captures soldiers from both countries demonstrating remarkable sportsmanship. Amid enthusiastic cheers, Indian soldiers clinched the victory. Chinese troops, seen waving their flags, participated enthusiastically while a man beat a dhol, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
The news agency ANI shared the video on X on May 28, stating, ¡°Indian troops won a Tug of War that took place between them and Chinese troops during deployment in Sudan, Africa under a UN Peacekeeping mission: Army officials.¡±?
The video quickly garnered over 4,18,000?views, with numerous social media users praising the Indian Army's performance. Comments such as ¡°India sends the best of the best forces for peacekeeping missions¡± and ¡°We are proud of Our Indian Army¡± flooded the post. Another user remarked, ¡°Very proud of our soldiers!!! I think the Chinese soldiers got a hint related to power and valor of India. Great!!¡±
This event coincides with the 76th anniversary of UN Peacekeepers Day, celebrated on May 29. The Indian Army¡¯s Additional Directorate General of Public Information commemorated the day by sharing a montage video of Indian soldiers deployed worldwide. They wrote, ¡°On the 76th anniversary of #UNPeacekeepersDay, #IndianArmy salutes the professionalism, dedication & courage of all Peacekeepers serving in UN Peacekeeping Missions and also pays tribute to those who have laid down their lives for the cause of peace.¡±

Held at the Umroi Joint Training Node, this seventh edition aimed to enhance the joint military capabilities of both nations. The previous edition was conducted in France in November 2021. The exercise concluded with soldiers from both countries celebrating their joint efforts and strengthening their military cooperation.
