A 50-year-old man from Bulandshahr¡¯s Khurja town has tested positive for coronavirus, as per reports of Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College laboratory. He is admitted to the quarantine?ward and will be isolated there. Sources said he was living in Maharashtra¡¯s Amravati for a few years due to work and had gone to Meerut recently. Meanwhile, Khurja sub-divisional magistrate Isha Priya and Khurja circle officer Gopal Singh paid a visit to the man's house to verify his travel history.?
¡°According to the initial information, we have got to know that the man in question was living in Amravati, Maharashtra for the past few years for work. He had returned a few days ago and went directly to Meerut to attend a family wedding. We have even extracted his call detail records and found that he did not come to Bulandshahr,¡± said Bulandshahr DM, Ravindra Kumar.

Meerut chief medical officer, Dr Raj Kumar said, ¡°We will trace his travel history after talking to him on Saturday. Until then, all we know is that he lived around Shastri Nagar area in Meerut for a few days. We are yet to figure out who all he met. His travel history will be traced and quarantine measures will be taken according to the norms.¡±
District surveillance officer Dr Vishwas Chaudhary said, ¡°Once we have clarity on his location, disinfectants will be spread in 1 km radius and people who came in his contact will be checked for symptoms. People with symptoms will also be quarantined.¡±
As soon as his report came, nurses and other paramedics in the quarantine ward of Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College left the ward and refused to work with the limited safety equipment. Now, the quarantine ward is totally dependent on the doctors posted there.
