A migrant worker from Rajanna Sircilla district in Telangana returned from Dubai turned into a guerrilla to avenge the betrayal of his wife, who eloped in his absence and splurged his hard-earned money on her paramour. Sircilla police recently arrested Jakkula Babu, 38, who returned to India and joined the Naxalite movement.
Speaking to TOI, Sircilla superintendent of police Rahul Hegde said, ¡°Jakkula Babu was in touch with CPIML Janashakti. He was working as a construction worker in Dubai. He returned in 2016 and joined the banned outfit. He saved money in Dubai and sent to his wife.
When he heard she spent all his money and eloped, he came back home. After he joined Naxalite ranks, he began scouting for recruits to revive the cadre.

He was involved in extortion from irrigation contractors. A case was registered in 2017. On October 6, we arrested Babu and his aide, Thokala Srikanth.¡±
Jakkula Babu is a native of Chinnalignapur in Rajanna Pricilla district and was promoted as district committee secretary, Janashakti group. Police seized a US-made Mouser Pistol and 15 live rounds of ammunition, Rs 44,600 in cash from him.
Police said Kura Rajanna is now again regrouping the Janashakti. ¡°One Vishwam, a cadre of the banned outfit, gave him the weapon. They want to trigger panic before elections,¡± said an official.
Babu has a rowdy-sheet in Thangalapalli police station since 2011.
He was acquitted in several cases between 2001 and 2008 and though a case was pending against him at Ellanthakunta police station and another in Nizamabad, Babu could secure a Dubai passport.
