Himachal Pradesh has been named the most welcoming region in India in 2024, followed by Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand.
According to the 12th Annual Traveller Review Awards 2024 by Booking.com Himachal Pradesh and Goa improved their ranking this year from the 5th and 4th places respectively in 2023, Kerala slipped one spot to third in the list, compared to the previous year.
Himachal Pradesh, which is home to hill stations like Kullu-Manali, Shimla, Dalhousie, Kinnaur, Kasol, Bir, Mcleodganj, Kasauli, Dharamsala, Kufri, Chail, Shoghi, Spiti Valley, Mashobra, Parwanoo and many more had welcomed a record, over 1.06 crore tourists in the first six months of 2023.
Mararikulam, a coastal beach village in Kerala has been named as the most welcoming city in India in 2024.
Others named in the list of most welcoming cities in India are Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) Bir (Maharashtra) Leh (Jammu & Kashmir) Manali (Himachal Pradesh) Thekkady (Kerala) Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) Kasol (Himachal Pradesh) Pushkar (Rajasthan) and Jodhpur (Rajasthan).
In 2023, Goa's Palolem and Agonda cities had secured the first and the second rank in the Most Welcoming Indian Cities list.
¡®Traveller Review Awards¡¯ also recognised Bengaluru (402) as the city with the most-awarded properties in India followed by Manali (342), New Delhi (339), Jaipur (277) and Udaipur (250). The most-awarded property type in India is hotels followed by homestays and apartments.
According to Booking.com, a total of 13,348 accommodation partners from India have been recognised for their excellent service and hospitality with the ¡®Traveller Review Award 2024¡¯.?
The 'Most Welcoming Regions' were ranked based on over 1,189,000 verified reviews from travellers, with an average review score of 8.8.
The ¡®Most Welcoming Cities¡¯ in India were ranked as recommended by more than 309 million verified customer reviews on the website.
