Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the nation in an 11-minute speech after the Supreme Court, in a unanimous verdict, pronounced a historic verdict in the decades-old Ramjanmbhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case.
"The entire world agrees that India is the largest democracy in the world, but today the world has also come to know how strong and alive India¡¯s democracy is. There is unity in diversity and this mantra is blossoming in all its glory," PM Modi said.
He said that this wasn't an easy issue and applauded the Supreme Court, Chief Justice of India and the judicial system.
Modi noted that the whole country wanted the Ayodhya case be heard daily, which happened and today a verdict has been delivered.
"This case which was going on for decades has concluded finally."
"Today, was the day when Berlin Wall fell where two different ideologies came together. Today Kartarpur Sahib opened in which both India & Pak participated," he said.
The PM stressed that apart from the Ayodhya verdict, November 9, will be remembered "for teaching us how to move forward together."
The apex court, today pronounced the verdict in the Ayodhya case which has for decades shaped the political discourse in the country.
It ruled in favor of Lord Ram temple on the disputed land and ordered that alternative land be given to Muslims to build a mosque.?

In a judgement, a 5-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, said the Sunni Waqf Board, which was a party to the title suit, should be given an alternate land somewhere else to build a mosque.
The disputed land of 2.77 acre has been given to Hindus for construction of temple.
The Supreme Court said the Hindus have established their case that they were in possession of outer courtyard and the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board has failed to establish its case in the Ayodhya dispute.
