PUBG (PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds) has been on the news of late. From people getting arrested for playing the game to educational institutions banning it, we have seen it all. However, this latest development takes the cake. A boy failed in his first year pre-university exam after he wrote only about 'how to play PUBG game' in the Economics answer sheet of his university, a report in the New Indian Express said.
The student had secured distinction in his Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exam last year but his addiction to the game cost his concentration towards studies.
Varun admitted that he was so engrossed in the online game that he completely forgot his exams were approaching soon. He even lied to his parents whenever they objected to his phone addiction saying he was chatting with his friends.
"I was studious, but got attracted towards PUBG as it was entertaining, and soon got addicted to it. Sometimes I even bunked classes to play the game and sat in the nearby garden," Varun was quoted to as saying by the New Indian Express.?
He realised his exams were a fortnight away but eventually it was too late for him to make up for the lost time. He did stop playing PUBG but couldn't pass his pre-university exams.
