Four Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists including two of them who were involved in killing female Kashmiri TV artist Amreen Bhat, were killed in two separate encounters.
Shahid Mushtaq Bhat from Budgam and Farhan, a resident of Pulwama were killed by the security forces in an encounter on Thursday at Aganhanzipora area at Awantipora in South Kashmir.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, Inspector General, Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar the two locals had recently joined militancy and had killed the female TV artist on the instruction of LeT Commander Lateef.
The firefight between terrorists and security forces took place after a joint team of the police and the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of terrorists.
As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where terrorists were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.
Kashmiri TV actress Amreen Bhat was killed by the terrorists in Budgam's Chadoora on Wednesday.
Her 10-year-old nephew had also suffered a bullet injury on his arm.
"Two people came to her house to call her for a shoot. When she stepped outside the house they killed her. What harm had she caused to anyone?," Zubair Ahmed, brother-in-law of TV artist Amreen Bhat, told ANI.
"Two people came to our home to call her for a shoot last night. They shot her after she told them that she would not go for the shoot. She was like a 'son' to me," father of Amreen Bhat had said.
In a separate incident on Friday two more LeT terrorists were killed by security forces in Central Kashmir's Srinagar district.
"The two killed terrorists of LeT have been identified as Shakir Ahmed Waza and Afreen Aftab Malik, both residents of Trenz Shopian and 'C' categorised. Incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition recovered," police said.?
According to the police, a total of ten terrorists belonging to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) have killed in in Kashmir in the last three days.
Of the 10 slain terrorists, three were from the JeM and seven from the LeT.
This comes as security has been stepped up across the valley following the sentencing of??Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik.
A Delhi court had on Wednesday sentenced?Malik, the chief of banned JKLF?to life imprisonment in a terror funding case.
