American YouTuber and online streamer Darren Jason Watkins Jr., more popularly known as IShowSpeed or Speed, has taken over social media with his adventures in China. From performing a backflip at the Great Wall of China to climbing the steep "love ladder", Speed has been winning hearts for embracing the Chinese culture and experiences. However, his journey hasn't been without its challenges, as he has also faced instances of racism during his time in the Asian country.
On March 31, Speed held his livestream from Chengdu, China, where he met hundreds of thousands of followers. While most of his fan interactions were wholesome, one encounter has left the internet shocked.
At one point in the afternoon, a masked female fan approached Speed, reaching him through a pool of fans. However, when she finally managed to grab his attention, she said something that had Speed going, 'WHAT!"
As Speed was surrounded by many fans, a female fan managed to break through the crowd and told him, "I am racist." Caught in disbelief, Speed kept asking her if she knew what she was saying; she responded in the affirmative, again reiterating, "I'm racist. I am so sorry about that." When he asked one last time if she understood English, she said, "Yes, I am racist. I'm a ni*a ki*er. I love your girlfriend because she is my people." Utterly shocked and in complete disbelief, the streamer quickly made his way to his car.

Internet reacts to the viral video
Netizens in the comments section of the video reacted in disbelief, with one writing, "I don¡¯t think she understands the gravity of what she is saying. She thinks calling herself a racist is like admitting her sexuality? It¡¯s so unbelievable that she is confessing this to a black man with so much excitement."
Another added, "I have learnt Chinese, and I genuinely cannot understand why she would say this. Either she¡¯s insane, or she needs to be careful because I don¡¯t know what the crowd will do to her; she must have a death wish."
A third commented, "I would say that she¡¯s trolling¡ but after I¡¯ve been to China 3 times, I¡¯m pretty sure she means everything she¡¯s saying."
"Speed broke down years of Anti-Chinese Propaganda and this woman put it all back up in 10 seconds," added another netizen.
In another racist encounter in China, a fan handed iShowSpeed a KFC bucket with a banana and began making monkey noises, leaving him agitated.
Meanwhile, many netizens praised Speed for maintaining his calm, and despite distasteful encounters, his continued efforts to promote anti-Chinese propaganda.
