Photographer Pervez Taufiq, who captured the video, says the trouble started after Bunch made inappropriate remarks to his 11-year-old son during their flight. His son, seated next to Bunch, reported being asked invasive questions about his ethnicity.
"My son said, 'Dad, that lady was asking if I'm Indian. I told her yes, and then she asked if I'm from New Delhi. I told her no, I'm from Bombay,'" Taufiq recounted.
Once on the shuttle, Bunch claims Taufiq aggressively pushed ahead of her in line and that his comments, including "white trash," set off her reaction.?
This is what Bunch is claiming Taufiq said: "[Pervez Taufiq] pushed me to the side to get in front of me and the lady made him go back to the end of the line and he's talking to his wife, 'supposedly they are first class. Obviously, with no class and look at the way they're dressed… they're white trash."
She attributes her heightened agitation to a brain injury from a past propane explosion, which she says has impacted her ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
However, Taufiq maintains that Bunch's behaviour escalated without provocation, and his video has been widely shared as evidence of her racist tirade.?
