Poverty is a serious issue in India. A tragic case of poverty arose in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. There is a family with an annual income of just Rs 2. The Tehsildar of the area issued an income certificate, which has caused a huge uproar. People were taken by surprise when the letter surfaced. Many of them questioned how this family survives on an annual salary of about Rs 2.?
The income certificate is issued to Balram Chadhar of Ghoghra village in Banda Tehsil. It was released in January 2024. Local 18 reporters visited the village to investigate the situation.?
While speaking with one of the family members, Tizzu Chadhar, he stated that there are five persons in the family. Because of financial constraints, the entire family works as workers.?
Balram Chadhar is the family's youngest son and is in 12th grade. He got this certificate created so that he might apply for a scholarship to further his education. When the scholarship was not given, he informed his teachers. After investigating, he discovered that the revenue amount was incorrectly stated in the certificate.
Balram told the media that he received the certificate from Common Service Centres after reporting an annual salary of Rs 40,000. Instead, Rs 2 was written on the certificate. Surprisingly, neither the person who presented the certificate nor the Tehsildar who signed it noticed the inconsistency.?
