Commenting on the Meo panchayat's demand for his arrest, Ahuja said ¡°Akbar and Aslam were smuggling cows. Aslam too should be arrested now for smuggling the cow.¡±
Akbar and Aslam were returning home with two cows they had purchased when they were confronted by a mob in Lalawandi village accusing them of cattle smuggling.
While Aslam managed to flee the mob, Akbar wasn't so lucky. The 28-year-old who was badly injured died of the assault even before he was taken to a hospital.
