In a bizarre twist of fate straight out of a quirky comedy, a Delhi man's trip to Goa turned into an unexpected adventure when his iPhone was pilfered and traded for a plate of Pav Bhaji at a local eatery.
The iPhone, a coveted possession valued between ?60,000 and ?1.5 lakh, fell victim to the antics of a fellow partygoer in a drunken escapade. But what ensued was beyond anyone's wildest imagination.
Sharing his unbelievable tale on X, social media maverick @KartikeyaRai11 recounted the peculiar chain of events. "A drunk dude pickpocketed my phone in Goa (I was equally drunk). The drunk dude then got very hungry and went to eat bhaji pao in a small shop, but he had no money to pay for it, so he took out the red iPhone and tried to trade that for the bhaji pao," he narrated.
The eatery owner, instead of dismissing the outlandish proposal, embraced the absurdity and struck the deal. Not only did he accept the iPhone as payment but also charged it and even fielded a call from the rightful owner.
Nearly 36 hours after the phone vanished into the Goan night, the owner embarked on a quest to track it down. To his astonishment, the eatery was located a whopping 60 kilometers away from the scene of the initial mischief.
In response to the uproarious post, a witty commenter quipped, "Oh, the pav bhaji must've been that good." Indeed, in the land of sun, sand, and serendipity, even the most mundane transactions can take on a flavor of their own.
