Man who ordered a Tissot from Amazon receives a used watch, replacement makes matters even worse
A customer who ordered a luxury watch from Amazon claimed he received a used product instead. To make matters worse, when the customer sought a replacement from Amazon, he received an Armani watch inside a Tissot box.?The customer, who goes by the name 'The Disciplined Investor' (@Disciplined_Inv) on X, said he had placed an order for a Tissot PRX watch on 21st July.?
Amazon customer narrates ordeal?
According to the social media user, the watch was delivered to him on 28th July. However, when he entered its serial number to check its authenticity on Tissot's website, he found that the watch was purchased on 15th February 2023, nearly one-and-a-half years before he bought it.
Feeling cheated, the customer contacted Amazon and sought a replacement. According to him, Amazon India offered a replacement and also promised that strict action would be taken against the seller, Mega Store LLP. But his ordeal was far from over. On August 6th, when he received the replacement from Amazon, the customer found an Armani watch in the Tissot box.
'Customer care kept transferring call'
When the customer raised a complaint again, he was offered a resolution within two days, but according to him, nothing happened.
"I contacted them again on 8th August and was told that they needed to raise another complaint for investigation. They told me that they would resolve the issue by 12th August. I waited and contacted them on the 12th. They kept asking me to hold and transferred the call to their seniors. This went on for 45 minutes, but to no avail. They again told me to wait another 24 hours. I waited again," he wrote.

According to the customer, he contacted Amazon support again on the 13th of August.
"After waiting for more than 30 minutes, they said there was some technical glitch and they couldn't do anything and asked me to wait another 24-48 hours," he stated.
'Was supposed to be a birthday gift'
The luxury watch was supposed to be a gift for his uncle, whose birthday was on 2nd August, but all he got was mental torture.
'Don't buy high-value items online'
The post has since gone viral, with many sharing their own experiences of receiving wrong or faulty products from Amazon and how customer service refused to help. Others also suggested not to purchase luxury and high-value items online.
"All luxury and high-value products have to be bought in person; that's what I have learned from my experiences with Amazon and Flipkart," said one user.
"I genuinely don¡¯t understand why anyone would buy a high-value product such as a watch or a laptop or even a phone online. One might get duped only once in 5 or even 10 times, but the headaches then are just not worth it. Better to stick to old-school, offline purchases for high-value products," added another.
