A 25-year-old man was arrested in Telangana for raping a woman, beating her to death, and raping the dead body later.
The grotesque event took place in Choutuppal town, located 50 km away from Hyderabad.
Reports suggest that the accused worked as a construction supervisor and had been stalking the victim, a 24-year-old woman, who lived with her husband in a godown near his house.
The accused had observed that the woman would stay alone for long hours while the husband worked as a watchman in a nearby college, according to a Times of India report.
On May 9 evening, the accused sneaked into the premises and cornered her near the toilet, and raped her after death threats.
"In less than an hour, he murdered the woman by battering her head with a blunt object and then repeatedly raped the corpse," said the report.
After the crime, he took away her gold jewellery and fled.?The deceased¡¯s husband lodged a police complaint on Monday evening and an FIR was registered for rape, murder, SC/ST Act and other sections of IPC.
After examining people who lived in the vicinity, police identified the accused and arrested him from Malkapur village and seized the stolen ornaments from his possession.?The accused had been sent to judicial custody.
The family of the woman has demanded the strictest action against the accused.
An 18-year-old woman has alleged that she was kidnapped while she was going to distribute invitation cards for her wedding and raped by three men in the Jhansi district.
The woman also alleged that the accused took her to a political party leader and later forced her to stay with someone else in a village in neighbouring Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, police said.
In the complaint given to the police, the woman alleged that on April 18, three youths of the village kidnapped her when she was going to distribute cards for her wedding to be held on April 21.
She has also alleged that they kept her at different places for a few days and then handed her over to a leader who kept her in Jhansi for another few days. The woman was then sent to a village in Datia in Madhya Pradesh to stay with someone else against her will, according to police.
She somehow managed to call her father from Datia, after which she was rescued from Pathari village with the help of the police.?
