It will be, in full capacity, ¡°the largest concentrated solar power plant in the world¡± and produce 500 megawatts of electricity, providing power to more than one million Moroccans by 2018, its developers said, and reduce Morocco¡¯s carbon emissions by 760,000 tons per year.
However, the upcoming solar plant in Madhya Pradesh, thought to be the world¡¯s biggest (till now), will produce 750 mw of electricity - 250 MW more than Morocco! The plant will start generating solar energy by March 2017. The project -- Rewa Ultra Mega Solar -- is a joint venture of Solar Energy Corporation of India and MP Urja Vikas Nigam, where in both parties have 50 % stake.
