According to an NDTV report, properties worth Rs 15000 crore, owned by the Pataudi family and partially linked to actor Saif Ali Khan, could be taken over by the government under the Enemy Property Act, of 1968.?
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has removed the stay imposed on these properties in 2015. A single bench of Justice Vivek Agarwal of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, on December 13, 2024, during a hearing, dismissed the petition of actor Saif Ali Khan.?
Moreover, the High Court directed in its order that he file an appeal before the Appellate Tribunal, but so far no action has been taken by Saif's family members.?
According to the report, the Pataudi family has property worth Rs 15,000 crores in Bhopal. Well, the property of Saif Ali Khan and Sharmila Tagore's family extends from Kohefiza to Chiklod.
Some of these properties, including the ruling, are Saif¡¯s childhood home, Flag Staff House; the Noor-Us-Sabah Palace; Dar-Us-Salam; the Bungalow of Habibi; Ahmedabad Palace; Kohefiza Property; among others.
According to an Indian Express report, the Nawab of Bhopal, Hamidullah Khan, had three daughters, and one of them migrated to Pakistan, while the others continued to stay in India. On the one hand, Saif Ali Khan is the grandson of the woman who remained in India, but the government is citing the woman who migrated as grounds to take control of the properties.?
In the past, actor Saif Ali Khan has opened up about reclaiming the family's Pataudi Palace after it was leased out to a hotel chain by his late father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Saif, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama in 2021, revealed that his father leased out the property and Francis (Wacziarg) and Aman (Nath), who ran a hotel there, took good care of the property.?
However, now Saif uses the palace as a summer house, and sometimes it is leased out for film productions for shooting purposes.
