OpenAI recently introduced its pioneering artificial intelligence-powered text-to-video generation model, Sora, which can craft videos up to 60 seconds in duration.?
CEO Sam Altman shared brief clips created by Sora on X and invited followers to suggest video concepts, encouraging detailed and challenging proposals.
Responding to Altman's prompt, Kunal Shah, Founder of CRED, envisioned an imaginative scenario involving animals and the ocean, specifically a bicycle race featuring various animal athletes filmed from a drone's perspective.
In response, the CEO of OpenAI shared a video on social media showcasing whales, penguins, and tortoises riding bicycles underwater, fulfilling Shah's vision. The clip quickly went viral, amassing 5.3 million views and 34,000 likes on the platform.
Users expressed admiration for the AI's capabilities. One remarked, "Interesting and powerful AI," while another praised its fidelity, stating, "This one's actually the most impressive video so far from a semantics and fidelity standpoint IMO."?
Others marvelled at its potential impact, with one user commenting, "Such a powerful tool, and it has already spread the magic all over the world." Another user humorously noted, "Noooo the turtle can't reach the pedals."
Acknowledging Sora's advancements, a commentator expressed both awe and concern, stating, "It is unbelievable how fast these AI technologies are advancing... and terrifying because we aren't ready for the disruptions these will soon create."
Meanwhile, OpenAI highlighted Sora's ability to create 60-second videos featuring highly detailed scenes, intricate camera movements, and emotionally expressive characters, a remarkable advancement compared to its competitors.
However, the company acknowledged limitations in accurately simulating complex physics and understanding specific cause-and-effect scenarios, such as leaving a bite mark on a cookie after being bitten. To mitigate potential misuse, OpenAI is developing tools to detect misleading content.
