While images of people standing in queues at the banks are coming from across the country, the ruling BJP has been accused of knowing the demonetisation plan before it was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 8 November.
Reports have emerged, suggesting that BJP leaders in Punjab and Bengal were well aware of the plan and had enough time to save their money.

People are also perplexed by the fact that how were these leaders able to find a way to put their money in banks, while common people across the country were left with no option, but to wait for the next morning and stand in long queues to change their currency notes.?
Meanwhile, Bengal unit of the BJP has found itself in a spot of bother after it came to light that the party had made cash deposits of as much as Rs 3 crore in a matter of days before the announcement to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes were made on Tuesday.
In fact, the last deposit of Rs 40 lakh, was made minutes before the PM's speech. Doesn't it suggest something fishy? People have been asking why - if PM's announcement is touted as a surprise for everyone - was the BJP leader able to do so. ?
The deposits were made to a savings account (No. 554510034) named Bharatiya Janata Party, West Bengal with Indian Bank's Central Avenue branch in Kolkata.
Reacting to the development other parties said the state BJP leadership might have been aware of the decision, while the government maintains that it was decided and executed in at most secrecy. ?

"It's possible that BJP members were well aware of this ban and that is why they deposited huge amounts in banks across the nation to make their black money white," CPM state secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra said.
The BJP however said the opposition is trying to create controversy by linking two unrelated incidents.
"Normally, party funding happens through donations and cash forms a part of it. We issue receipts against the cash received. Copies of such receipts are available with the party for verification," State BJP president Dilip Ghosh said.
In a similar incident Punjab BJP Sanjeev Kamboj had on November 6th tweeted this images saying "Reserve Bank #RBI to issue Rs 2000 currency note in India soon".
This was two days before the government even made the announcement to introduce Rs 2,000 notes. Also it raises question about the government's claims that the decision was a closely guarded secret.?
Now, people's queries seem to be legitimate as to why only one party leaders are involved in this. Does it make one smell a rat??
