To the surprise of many on social media, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath has bagged the honour of hosting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his podcast debut. The Zerodha co-founder, who hosts the WTF is with Nikhil Kamath podcast, on Thursday released the trailer of his interaction with the Indian PM.
Modi will be the guest on episode six of People by WTF, which in the past has hosted Bill Gates, Nandan Nilekani, and Ranbir Kapoor.
"People with The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi | Ep 6 Trailer," Kamath said while sharing the update on social media.
"This is my first podcast, I don't know how it'll go with your audience," PM Modi is heard saying in the video.
Kamath, who admitted that he felt nervous about sitting with the PM for the podcast, also explained that his show was aimed at exploring the intersection of politics and entrepreneurship.
During their conversation, Modi and Kamath touched upon a wide range of topics, including his time as Gujarat Chief Minister.
"I said something in an insensitive way. Mistakes happen. I am human, not a God," PM Modi can be heard saying.
Kamath also spoke about his own experience and how politics was viewed negatively during his upbringing.
"Growing up in a South Indian middle-class home, we were always told that politics is a dirty game. This belief is so ingrained in our psyche that it is almost impossible to change it. What is your one advice for people who think the same?" he asked.
While the trailer of the podcast has created quite some waves on social media, many also wondered why PM Modi chose Kamath's show to make his podcast debut.
Many said that they would have expected PM Modi to make his podcast debut with BeerBiceps, aka Ranveer Allahbadia, or on ANI's editor Smita Prakash's show.
