Police have filed a case against a postal department employee for allegedly siphoning off Rs 1.55 crore from at least 16 post offices branches in Dwarka, Gujarat as per TNN.??
The accused is Tarak Jadhav.?
He tempered the accounting software in order to embezzle the cash.??
He showed fake cash in transit from 16 branches under the Bhatia sub-post office in Kalyanpur taluka.
That is where he was posted according to the police as per TOI.?
The FIR said the fraud was committed between June 2019 and December 2020.?
He was a postal assistant.?
The number of transactions was around 110 and Rs 1,55,75,000 was embezzled.?
Jadhav has been booked under IPC Sections 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant).?
The case is being further investigated.?
A more unique way to embezzle money and rather smart up to a point.?
But crime does not pay and Jadhav will face the consequences of his actions.?
Charges will be filed and he shall have his day in court.
To be honest it takes a criminal genius to do what he did and Jadhav clearly found a way to work the system.
He eventually did get caught and there is no guarantee that he won't do it again if he gets the chance.?
The scam lasted a long time and covered a lot of areas.
