Angry at not finding his seat ¡®comfortable¡¯, a passenger on board a Patna-bound SpiceJet flight (SG-379) from Pune ripped off the cushion of his seat minutes before take-off on Wednesday afternoon.
No action was taken against him as the crew did not want to delay the flight. The engineering team put the cushion back and the flight took off on time at 1.05pm. The passenger was offered another seat but he declined, a source in the airline said.
The passenger, identified as Nitesh Kumar, later posted the photos of the ripped seat on Twitter. ¡°This is the flight condition of SpiceJet¡¯s Pune to Patna flight,¡± he tweeted, tagging the airline¡¯s twitter handle as well as that of the civil aviation minister, Suresh Prabhu.

¡°All cushions of the seats of SpiceJet flights are detachable. It seems that the passenger found the seat uncomfortable as it was shaking and took it off. He then took photos of the same before the cabin crew could intervene. This happened as soon as the man reached his seat.
The crew asked him about the issue to which he said that the seat was very uncomfortable. The crew cautioned him and even offered him a different seat, which he declined. The engineering team put the cushion back and the flight took off on time.
