Lance Naik Sandeep Singh, who was among the braves of surgical strikes, lost his life in Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday, while fighting terrorists. He was hit by multiple bullets during the operation on Monday. He will be laid to rest in Gurdaspur today afternoon.
Singh was the part of the elite special forces which conducted the 2016 surgical strikes in Pakistan. He is survived by his wife and a five-year-old son.
Three terrorists were also killed?in the anti-infiltration operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar in J&K on Monday. On Sunday, two terrorists were killed in the gun battle. According to Mumbai Mirror, Singh was leading the search party of 4 Para commandos in the Tanghdar sector. Noticing suspicious activities, he deployed his squad and moved further to ascertain their presence.
He neutralised three terrorists and sustained a gunshot to his head. He succumbed to his injuries while being evacuated.
