As unbelievable as it may sound a woman in posing as an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer and a UN official made a mockery of the system and availed facilities like gunners and police escorts while she travelled around towns such as Noida, Gurugram, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Moradabad.
The woman, identified as Zoya Khan was arrested by Noida Police from Greater Noida on Thursday along with her husband.
According to reports Zoya, a native of Meerut had forged documents and ID cards where her designation was ¡°joint secretary with the foreign ministry¡± posted at the ¡°United Nations Organization Security Council¡±.?
The couple used to live in a rented apartment in Noida and used to travel around with police escort.?
According to Noida Police, Zoya used to send emails to officials from her 'official id' securitychief@unitednationssecuritycouncil.org to get police protection. She even used a voice changing app on her phone to then call up the official, pretending to be Anil Sharma, personal assistant to joint secretary Zoya Khan to inquire about the police escort.? ?
While on her trips, Zoya even used to make the cops salute her.?
The elaborate con job which has been going on for over 18 months got busted after an angry Zoya yelled at Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) SSP Vaibhav Krishna for delaying police escorts.
The officer got suspicious and started investigating her actions. To their surprise, the cops found out that the domain which she used to send her 'official emails' were registered in her name with GoDaddy.?
The police then raided her apartment and arrested Zoya along with her husband, Harsh Pratap Singh, who cops said used to work in a private bank, but left his job two years ago for civil service coaching.?
The cops also recovered fake identity cards of her, one showing her as a UNSC nuclear officer and another as a US diplomat in Afghanistan. Laptops, phones, walkie-talkies and a fake pistol were also recovered from the couple along with two luxury cars.?
According to reports, Zoya has an MA in Political Science and had failed to clear Civil Service in 2007.
