Unnao Again? Kanpur Woman Beaten To Death By Men Out On Bail For Molesting Her Teenage Daughter

The Uttar Pradesh Police which had come under heavy criticism after a 23-year-old rape victim was set ablaze by five men, including two of them whom she had filed a rape complaint and was out on bail has not learned their lessons yet.?
In yet another shocking crime which is almost a repeat of the horrific incident in Unnao, a 40-year-old woman was beaten to death by six men, who were accused of molesting her daughter who was 13 years old at the time, in 2018.?
Last Thursday, the men who were out on bail barged into the home of the minor girl and asked the family to withdraw the case, and when they refused, the accused beat them up with sharp weapons leaving the girl's mother and another relative badly injured.?
The complainant's mother, who was also a witness in the molestation case died in the Lala Lajpat Rai hospital in Kanpur on Friday. In a short video that was shot by unidentified people from the locality, the woman in a red kurta lying on the ground as a man dressed in a white kurta and trousers kicks her face.?
"The incident took place in Chakeri area. The accused in the molestation case of 2018 was out on bail. There was a dispute between the accused and the victim's family while the accused were drinking liquor. The accused along with other people attacked the two witnesses of the molestation case," Kanpur SSP Anant Dev Tiwari said.He said, "In the attack, a woman was seriously injured and was admitted to the hospital. After spending over a week in the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries on Friday."?
Following the death of the woman, four of the six accused Abid, Mintu, Mahboob, Chaand Babu have been arrested by the police. There are also reports that the two others, Jameel and Firoz were in an encounter with police.?
This is the second such crime that was reported from UP after the Unnao incident.Last month an 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped and set ablaze at a village in Fatehpur district.The 22-year-old accused is her distant relative, who allegedly raped and set the girl ablaze when she was alone at her house.?
There was also another incident in Baghpat UP where a rape complaint was threatened a 'worse than Unnao fate' if she dares to testify in the case. The rape complaint's family found a note pasted outside their house which said that if she testified in the court on, consequences will not be good. They may be worse than Unnao.
