A 19-year-old girl from Greater Noida's Dadri district who was studying in Babson College in Massachusetts on a scholarship was killed in a tragic road accident.
The girl, Sudeeksha Bhati, was on her vacations and had come to her hometown. She was supposed to go back to the US on August 20. She was on her way to Bulandshar riding her two-wheeler when the accident took place.??
The victim's family has alleged that while she was on her way with her uncle on a scooty, two men on a motorbike started following them, according to a report by India Today.
"The men were passing comments on Sudeeksha and were trying to overtake her and do stunts. Suddenly, their motorbike hit Sudeeksha's Scooty and it lost balance. Sudeeksha died on the spot," Satendra Bhaati, the student's uncle told India Today.
Former UP CM Mayawati and BSP leader has condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the culprits.
She tweeted, "The promising student Sudeeksha Bhaati, who was going on a bike with her uncle in Bulandshahar, lost her life due to the eve-teasing, which is extremely sad, embarrassing and very condemnable. How will daughters progress? BSP strongly demands that the UP government should take strict legal action against the culprits immediately."
Sudeeksha was from a poor family and had topped in her class 12 exams from Bulandshahr district and was studying in the US on a scholarship of Rs 3.80 crore.
After she completed school, she was selected for higher studies by the studies and given a scholarship.
