After a turbulent summer of conflicts, Blake Lively has slapped her It Ends with Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni with a lawsuit, accusing him of sexual harassment and a coordinated effort to destroy her reputation.?
According to a lawsuit obtained by?TMZ, Lively alleges that her co-star, Baldoni, engaged in behaviour that created a toxic and hostile work environment during the filming of their movie. The situation reportedly became so difficult to deal with that a mandatory meeting was called to address the issues, with Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, in attendance.
The lawsuit filed by Blake Lively's legal team underlines a list of demands she made in response to Justin's alleged hostile behaviour on sets. These demands included a request to stop showing explicit content, such as nude videos or images of women, discussions about his porn addiction, and remarks about her weight or her deceased father.?Additionally, the actress also asked makers to not include explicit scenes in the script without her consent. The studio agreed to meet all of these demands, reportedly.
Accusing Justin of tarnishing her reputation, Blake further claimed that the actor and his team orchestrated a social media campaign to turn the narrative against her after conflicts in marketing. While Blake wanted to promote it as a story of Lily Bloom's (her character) strength and resilience, Justin wanted domestic violence to be the central theme during the promotional events. Notably, Justin and Blake didn't participate in promotions together, with the latter largely distancing himself from the campaigns.
Justin's team has responded to the lawsuit, denying the accusations vehemently.??His lawyer, Bryan Freedman, said the claims were untrue and excessive, suggesting that Blake aims to rebuild her image with with the lawsuit. Additionally, Freedman claimed that it was Lively who was challenging to work with. He also provided a different explanation for a comment made about Blake's weight by Baldoni, stating that it was related to a personal health concern rather than an attempt to shame or criticise her.
