When it comes to dating it is important to create the best possible first impression. As dating goes online with websites and apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid and more, this becomes even more important as the first impression has a huge role in determining whether a profile gets a right swipe or a left swipe.
So how to get the perfect profile on dating apps? Apparently, AI.
A report by McAfee has found that people across the world are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ChatGPT to create their profiles on dating sites.
The study found that more than half, (65 per cent) of Indians have used ChatGPT or other AI platforms to help create pictures or other content for a dating app.?
Specifically this Valentine¡¯s Day, 56% of Indians are planning to or considering using AI to write messages for their love interest as it helps boost their confidence.?
However, this contrasts sharply with people¡¯s feelings about receiving AI-generated content: 60% of people said they would be hurt or offended if they found out their Valentine¡¯s message was written by a machine or Artificial Intelligence.
And AI seems to have worked wonders for most of the people who have used it to improve their dating profiles.
The report noted that despite mixed feelings and experiences, the effectiveness of AI is undeniable: 81% of people reported receiving more interest and better responses using AI-generated content than when they drafted or used their own original content.
¡°The possibilities of AI are endless, and unfortunately, so are the perils. For people who are shy about starting conversations, short on time to craft the perfect message, or whose photos could be brightened, AI offers tools to help enjoy all the fun and excitement that comes with online dating,¡± Steve Grobman, McAfee¡¯s Chief Technology Officer, said.
Several recent studies across the world also had shown similar trends in dating.
Renate Nyborg, the former CEO of Tinder had recently said that AI was helping people to overcome the lack of social skills of people due to the two years of COVID-19 lockdown.
