Driving on the busy roads of Bengaluru is not among the most pleasant experiences one can have. The flood of vehicles on the road means that the traffic often moves at a snail's pace.
Despite this, some people have managed to turn the roads into a stage for performing their vehicle stunts.
Recently several videos have surfaced online showing people performing wheelies on the roads of Bengaluru.
In one of the videos, two men on a scooter were seen doing a wheelie on a busy stretch in Yelahanka.
"Wheelie at Yelahanka caught on camera. Can we get the maniac's bike seized?," a social media user who goes by the name ThirdEye said on X.
The user also shared the video of the wheelie and tagged the Bengaluru Traffic Police in the post.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police responded to the post and said ¡°Yelahanka Traffic Police will take action.¡±
While the traffic police promised to take action against the violators, many on social media pointed out that this is not an isolated case.
Recently the Bengaluru Traffic Police had launched a crackdown on those performing wheelies on the road.
DCP Traffic for South Bengaluru posted on social media about several recent cases where vehicle owners were caught and fined for performing wheelies.
The Traffic Police had also launched a crackdown on vehicle owners with a large amount of fines pending against them.
¡°At least 2,681 vehicles in Bengaluru have over Rs 50,000 pending fines for traffic violations. We have started a drive to collect fines from these violators. If they fail to pay even after this we file a chargesheet at the court and the court will issue summons to such offenders,¡± MN Anucheth, the joint commissioner of police, had said.
