Fadnavis emphasized that while freedom of speech is a fundamental right in the country, it's not absolute and ends when it encroaches upon the freedom of others.
He stated that society has certain rules in place, and violating them is wrong and should be met with consequences. This comes after Allahbadia faced intense backlash for asking a contestant a highly inappropriate and vulgar question on the show, which sparked widespread outrage and calls for accountability. He has since extended an apology.
The Maharashtra CM said that while he hasn't personally watched the video, he's aware of its contents and believes action should be taken if rules have been violated.
¡°I have come to know about it. I have not seen it yet. Things have been said and presented in a wrong way. Everyone has freedom of speech, but our freedom ends when we encroach upon the freedom of others¡ In our society, we have made some rules; if someone violates them, it is absolutely wrong, and action should be taken against them," Fadnavis told reporters on Monday.
After an FIR was filed against Ranveer Allahabadia, the Mumbai Police have arrived at the Khar studio where the controversial episode of India's Got Latent was filmed, marking the beginning of a formal investigation into the matter. The police probe is likely to focus on the alleged obscenity and vulgarity displayed during the show and will examine whether the content violated any laws or regulations.

In a video shared on X, Ranveer acknowledged that his comment was not only inappropriate but also not funny.?In the clip, Ranveer stated, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate; it wasn't even funny. Comedy isn't my forte; I am just going to say sorry."
Ranveer also acknowledged that his podcast has a wide audience, including people of all age groups, and expressed his commitment to being more mindful of the content he creates. He said, "I am not going to give any context or justification; I just want to give my apology. Had a lapse in my judgment. The podcast is watched by people of all age groups, and they don't want to take that responsibility lightly."
Furthermore, Ranveer emphasized his respect for family and his commitment to not disrespecting it. He stated, "Family is the last thing I would disrespect."
