Having lost his father in 2020, Siraj¡¯s gesture was a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards his mother, highlighting the significant role she played in his life and career.
Following their return to India from Barbados on Thursday, Siraj and his teammates had a packed schedule - which included attending a meeting and breakfast with PM Modi, a victory parade, as well as a felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium organised by BCCI.
After the players were deemed free to return to their homes, Siraj¡¯s homecoming in Hyderabad was nothing short of exciting in comparison to the nationwide celebrations of India¡¯s historic victory.

His final appearance in the tournament was against the USA, where he bowled another tight spell, giving away just 25 runs in four overs. A washout against Canada ended his World Cup stint, and he was replaced by Kuldeep Yadav in the Super 8 stages.
