On Saturday night, three jamaat members, who had been a part of the recent religious congregation in DelhiĄ¯s Nizamuddin Markaz, tested positive for COVID-19 in Lakhimpur Dhaurahra.?
They were the part of a 12 member group who visited the Tablighi Jamaat, these three people were earlier found staying in a mosque in Dhaurahra area of the district. Two of them aged 19 while the third one aged 62 years old. SDM Sunandu Sudhakaran said that all of them were asymptomatic and there were 23 teams who were working towards tracing their contacts.?
The Tablighi Jamaat members were actually found on March 31, that time they claimed that they were migrant workers who were only returning from Delhi to Bihar. They were separately quarantined by SDM at a shelter home after conducting their medical checkup. After three days they admitted about their presence at the Jamaat in Delhi. Thereafter, samples were taken for COVID-19 testing on Friday and reports of the three were found positive.?
On Sunday, Manoj Agrawal (CMO) said Ą°All the three positive cases have been sent to our community health centre in Behjam where they would be kept in isolation. The other nine members of the group will be kept under observation for the next few days. Some of the people were home quarantined and their medical examination has been conducted by our medical staff. The locals have been alerted and advised to call us in case anyone develops symptoms of COVID-19- among them or family members.Ąą
SDM Sudhakaran told the TOI, Ą°We have deployed 23 teams comprising health and administrative officials to trace the people who may have come in contact with these positive cases. The mosque and the areas within the radius of one kilometre were sanitized in the presence. Police are also putting efforts in finding out whether the Jamaat men are staying elsewhere in the area. The locals have been alerted and advised to immediately share the information about those who arrive after lockdown was announced. We have also conducted meetings with the religious head and asked to cooperate with usĄą
On Sunday, there were five more men who were found staying in the house Amritaganj village under the Kheri police station. The five men along with the house owner have been asked to be quarantined and they will be put under relevant sections for violating Ą°quarantine normsĄą.?
