Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal shared notable insights on social media platform X, revealing that Indians tipped over Rs 97 lakh delivery partners on December 31. The surge in orders and tips underlines the growing reliance on delivery services during festive occasions and special events.
"Love you, India! You've tipped over ?97 lakhs till now to the delivery partners serving you tonight," he wrote.

Zomato CEO also shared interesting insights on X regarding the surge in orders and orders that eclipsed previous years' records.

Goyal shared that Zomato and Blinkit had over 3.2 lakh delivery partners at work on December 31. "Thank you for helping the nation celebrate," he added.
Also, he said that a person in Kolkata placed 125 items in a single order. When somebody asked how many drivers will be picking up that order, Goyal replied, "1 delivery partner (just checked ¨C all 125 are rumali rotis)."
Sharing another fun fact, he wrote, "8422 orders were placed at 8:06 pm ¨C that's 140 orders every second."
Earlier in the day, Goyal shared images of the "war room" from the company headquarters as the food delivery giant geared up for the massive surge in orders on New Year's Eve.
