Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram, who was recently arrested in France for his role in enabling a host of illegal activities on his instant messaging and social media platform, has reportedly offered free in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment to women. But there is a catch ¨C they have to use Durov's sperm.??
AltraVita IVF clinic, based in Moscow, is offering free IVF treatment to women who are no older than 37 if they are willing to use donor sperm from Durov. According to the clinic, there are only a limited ¡°number of slots¡± available for this special offer.??
¡°You can undergo the procedure of in vitro fertilisation (IVF) absolutely free of charge, using donor sperm from Pavel Durov, one of the most famous and successful entrepreneurs of our time,¡± the clinic said.??
As bizarre as it may sound, this should not come as a surprise, as the 40-year-old by his own admission has already fathered over 100 children.??
In a post on his Telegram channel in July, Durov had said that he was told he had over 100 biological kids despite never having married and preferring to live alone.??
According to Durov, he first donated sperm to a friend who said he and his wife couldn¡¯t have kids due to a fertility issue.??
However, when the clinic told him that ¡°high-quality donor material¡± was in short supply and that it was his civic duty to donate more sperm to anonymously help more couples, Durov went on a donation spree.??
According to the Telegram founder, he helped over a hundred couples in 12 countries to have kids, and even after he stopped being a donor, the AltraVita IVF clinic still has his frozen sperm available for anonymous use by families who want to have kids.??
Durov even said he was planning to open-source his DNA so that his biological children could find each other more easily.??
