Firing repeatedly at the dog, a police officer in Texas, USA accidently shot and killed a woman. The authorities said the woman was shot and killed behind shopping plaza after the officer repeatedly fired at the dog running at him. The authorities also said that dog was believed to be victim¡¯s pet.
The officer and other emergency workers on Thursday responded to a welfare check concerning a woman who appeared to have passed in grassy area behind plaza. As the officer was calling out the woman, the dog ran towards the officer charging at him.?

The officer drew his weapon and fired at the dog as the dog kept charging at him. The woman yelled out after the shot were fired, the authorities said. The barking dog, according to the residents was small and resembled a beagle.?
The Tarrant County medical examiner¡¯s office identified the victim as 30-year-old Margarita Victoria Brooks died at a hospital. The dog which the investigators think belonged to the victim, survived.
People who work and live near the spot where shooting occurred said that they often saw Brooks walking with her boyfriend and the couple appeared to be homeless. They also told that the couple always had a dog with them.?
Larry Hamilton who lived in a nearby apartment but was homeless for several years told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram cited as source by AP that he knew Brooks and he described her as ¡°a good-hearted person¡± who always ensured that her dog eats before her.

Hamilton also said that the dog is a mix between a? Labrador retriever and beagle and didn¡¯t appear to be aggressive.
A sales manager at the nearby auto dealership, Robert Baxter also told that the dog resembled beagle and was small to medium in size.
¡°They typically walked down this way almost every day,¡± Baxter told The Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper.
On Friday, Arlington police Lt Christopher Cook said that it was not clear if Brooks had any medical emergency before the shooting incident took place. Cook also said that body camera footage of the shooting was also be reviewed by the investigator and an additional information is expected to be released by Friday including the number of time, the officer fired and how many times Brooks was hit.
The authorities haven¡¯t disclosed the officer¡¯s name and Cook also said that he is not sure when will it be released.
